The Siesta Peep Box is an audiovisual experience that brings paintings and photographs to life in a novel way by using layers of video, animation and sound. The Interactive PeepBox™ series is based on a concept developed at the Interactive Institute by Evoking Spaces, The Digital Cultural Heritage Centre of Expertise and Performing Pictures. The Interactive PeepBox™ series is produced and marketed by Evoking Spaces. Performing Pictures has produced the story, content and technical solution for the Siesta Peep Box.
Client: Evoking Spaces
Place: Papalote Museo del Nino, Cuernavaca, Mexico
Year: 2008
Following the success of the Castle and the Electro Bacchanalia Lumologs, Papalote Children's Museum in Mexico has ordered a custom-made Lumolog for their new satellite museum in Cuernavaca opening late 2008. The peep box is based on the painting Siesta, by Mexican artist Ramón Cano Manilla (1888-1974). In our interpretation the two mischievous characters – inspired by Chaplin as well as cartoons Tom and Jerry – do their best to con and trick each other.
Siesta is a unique peep box in the Interactive PeepBox™ series and is produced and marketed by Evoking Spaces. Read more about the Castle or contact David Nilsson (david@evokingspaces.se) for more information.
